They both contain roughly the same information. I personally find the EJ thread a little bit easier to read and skim for the information I’m seeking – um, largely because the font is smaller. However, most if not all of that information originated at Maintankadin. MT should always be your first stop for Protection Paladin info.

Please keep in mind that the concept of a Tank “BIS” list is arguably problematic and dependent on everything from what your healers prefer to what kind of encounter you are approaching. However, the threads in this forum are a fantastic place to figure out which purps drop where.

Gems and enchants are easier.  Digren’s guide has everything you need.  Alternatively you can check the huge guides linked in part 1 for basic recommendations.
